ethical and sustainable entomology art
All Silk Swallowtail insects are collected ethically
and sustainably after a full life and natural
death. We only utilize wild caught specimens
that are deemed pests, invasive or severely over
populated resulting in resource scarcity.
All other resources are handmade or foraged
lawfully in Oregon with lots of love and
attention to detail.

My name is Lilianne, I am the owner and creator of The Silk Swallowtail.
Growing up, my dad and I spent a ton of time outside hunting for neat (or really freaky) bugs. I’d always been fascinated with the process of preservation, and getting to preserve bugs is just extra fascinating! Being able to breathe new life to something so incredible and beautiful after it has passed on is such a great way to honor what these little guys do in their short time on earth.
I’m also a HUGE Lord of the Rings nerd, and that really sparked a big love for all things magical. All my work is heavily influenced by fantasy elements and the raw beauty of the natural world around us.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share what I love with all of you. I can’t wait to see where it takes us!
Love,
Lilianne
